Limoges scores game winner in OT as Moose edge Stars 2-1 Featured

Winnipeg, Manitoba (NHN)-Alex Limoges scored the game winner with 1:45 left in overtime as the Manitoba Moose edged the Texas Stars 2-1 Sunday afternoon.

Mikey Eyessimont won a puck battle behind the goal line before kicking the puck to Limoges, who worked himself free before beating Anton Khubodin with high shot to give Manitoba the win.

Limoges had both Moose goals on the afternoon.

Okskari Salminen made 32 saves for Manitoba, who moved to 6-2-1-0 on the season.

Curtis McKenzie got the lone Stars goal on the night, a second period tally.

Anton Khubodin turned aside 28 shots for Texas, who dropped to 5-3-0-2.

There was no scoring in the first period. Limoges cut hard for the front, pivoted and beat Khubodin with a high wrister to put the Moose up 1-0.

The goal was his 1st of the season.

With Simon Lundmark off for holding Curtis McKenzie got the Stars on even terms when he tipped a puck off a Riley Barber shot from the left circle past Salminen at 4:27.

The goal was his 4th of the season.

There was no scoring in the third period and the game went to overtime.

Matej Blumel nearly won it for the Stars in overtime on a two man breakaway but was stymied by Salminen.

Texas visits Colorado on Tuesday while Manitoba hosts Calgary on Friday.
