Panthers down Jets 5-3 Featured

Winnipeg, Manitoba (NHN)-Mason Marchment scored twice and added an assist to pace the Florida Panthers to a 5-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets Tuesday night.

Anton Lundell had a goal and an assist for Florida, who closed out a five-game road trip with a win.

Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett also scored for Florida.

Sam Reinhart had a pair of assists.

Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 32 shots for the Panthers, who moved to 29-9-5.

Paul Stastny, Kyle Connor and Pierre-Luc Dubois scored for the Jets, who were playing their first home game since December the 19th, a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.

Cole Perfetti had a pair of assist for Winnipeg.

Connor Hellebuyck made 28 saves for the Jets, who lost their 5th straight game (17-15-7).

Mason Marchment scored 2:09 into the contest when he redirected an Anton Lundell shot past Connor Hellebuyck to give Florida a 1-0 lead.

The goal was his 3rd of the season.

Paul Stastny tied it at 8:19 when he fired a rebound off a Brendan Dillon shot from the point past Sergei Bobrovsky to make it 1-1.

The goal was his 9th of the season.

Marchment got his second of the night at 12:06 when Sam Reinhart got to a loose puck along the end boards before spinning and feeding a wide open Marchment at the hash marks.

The Florida winger snapped a wrister hitting the back bar of the net before Hellebuyck could react.

The goal was his 4th of the season.

Kyle Connor tied it just under the 13 minute mark when Cole Perfetti hit him in stride with a cross ice pass.

The Jet winger moved in and beat Bobrovsky with a neat backhand deke to make it 2-2 at 12:57.

The goal was his 23rd of the season.

Anton Lundell made it 3-2 at 17:33 when he redirected a Mason Marchment shot past Hellebuyck to give Florida the lead.

The goal was his 10th of the season.

Pierre-Luc Dubois tied it 3:30 into the second period with a power play marker off of Cole Perfetti's second creative setup of the night.

With Sam Bennett off for cross checking Perfetti stepped past a sprawling Radko Gudas before sliding the disc over to a wide open Dubois who beat Bobrovsky between the pads to tie the game at 3.

The goal was his 18th of the season.

Carter Verhaeghe restored the lead for the Panthers 9:42 into the second when Verhaeghe pounced on a rebound off of an Aaron Ekblad blast from the high slot, sliding the puck past Hellebuyck.

The goal was his 15th of the season.

Sam Bennett scored 12:10 into the third when he hammered a rebound off an Anthony Duclair shot from in close past Hellebuyck to make it 5-3.

The goal was his 13th of the season.

Both teams are in action on Thursday as Florida returns home to host Vegas while Winnipeg hosts Vancouver.
