Winnipeg, Manitoba (NHN)-Patrick Laine scored his team leading 21st goal of the season and Connor Hellebuyck turned aside all 29 shots he faced to earn the shutout as the Winnipeg Jets blanked the Vancouver Canucks 1-0 Sunday night. The shutout was his 4th of the year.

The win was their 2nd straight and put them back in 1st place in the NHL's Central Division with 63 points on the season.

Anders Nilsson took the loss for Vancouver, his 6th straight, turning aside 35 shots.

Patrick Laine scored 11:45 into the first period, converting a Blake Wheeler feed from behind the Vancouver net to score his 21st goal of the season.

Wheeler got control of the disc and skated behind the net, hitting Laine in the deep slot which the Finnish winger slid past goaltender Anders Nilsson to put the Jets up 1-0.

There was no scoring in the second or third periods.

The Canucks return home to face Los Angeles Tuesday while Winnipeg visits San Jose.
