Winnipeg, Manitoba (NHN)-Cole Maier scored twice and Mikhail Berdin stopped 35 shots as the Manitoba Moose beat the San Antonio Rampage by a 5-2 score to win their 6th straight game Sunday afternoon.

The win moved the Moose into third place in the Central Division with 18 points on the season (9-8-0-0).

Leon Gawanke had a goal and an assist in the win.

Andrei Chibisov and Kristian Vesalainen also scored for the Moose.

Mikhail Berdin made 35 saves for Manitoba, who swept their four-game homestand.

Ville Husso stopped 28 shots for the Rampage, who lost their fifth straight.

Mike Vecchione and Jordan Kyrou scored for San Antonio, who There was no scoring in the first period.

Mike Vecchione opened the scoring just under the four minute mark when he fired a wrister past Manitoba goaltender Mikhail Berdin just inside the left post at 3:52.

The goal was his 9th of the season.

The Moose replied with a shorthanded marker at 5:56.

With C.J. Suess off for hooking, J.C. Lipon broke in and left a drop pass for Cole Maier who beat Rampage goaltender Ville Husso just under the cross bar to make it 1-1.

The goal was his 2nd of the season.

Jordan Kyrou scored just 23 seconds later on the same power play, beating Berdin with a clean shot to give San Antonio the lead.

Andrei Chibisov scored with at 19:59 of the second period as he broke in alone before beating Husso with a low shot to make it 2-2.

Jansen Harkins sprung the Moose forward free with a nifty pass, hitting him in full stride before the first-year forward skated in and scored his 4th of the season.

The assist stretched Harkins' point streak to 9 games.

Maier scored his second of the game 3:26 into the third, banging a rebound into a wide open net after Leon Gawanke nailed the goalpost with a high wrister.

The goal was his 3rd of the season.

Kristian Vesalainen gave the Moose some breathing room 13:24 into the third on a nice solo effort.

The second-year winger broke down the left-side boards with the puck, before cutting hard to the net and having the disc go in off of Rampage defenceman Niko Mikkola's skate to make it 4-2 Manitoba.

The goal was his 3rd of the season.

Leon Gawanke added an empty netter with 3:14 left in regulation to seal the win for Manitoba.

San Antonio continues their four-game road trip on Tuesday in Chicago while Manitoba visits Belleville Wednesday.
