Winnipeg, Manitoba (NHN)-Xavier Simoneaux scored twice and Sean Farrell had a goal and two assists as the Laval Rocket skated to a 5-2 win over the Manitoba Moose Monday morning.

Joshua Roy added a goal and assist for Laval as they swept their two-game weekend series with the Moose.

Philippe Mailloux and Olivier Gallipeau scored for the Rocket.

Strauss Mann stopped 26 shots for Laval, who moved to 3-8-1-0.

Wyatt Bongiovanni, Ashton Sautner scored for the Moose.

Thomas Milic turned aside 26 shots for Manitoba in his first AHL start, who dropped to 4-6-0-0.

Laval carried the play early with quick puck movement and speed and the Moose were slow to respond, spotting the visitors a two-goal lead after the first period.

Laval took an early lead 1:23 into the opening frame when Philippe Maillet shovelled a loose puck off a goalmouth scramble past Milic to give them a 1-0 lead.

The goal was his 3rd of the season.

Olivier Gallpeau made it 2-0 when he moved in from his point position when Sean Farrell hit him with a crisp pass in the high slot which the Laval defenceman blew by Milic to score his first goal of the season at 18:22 of the first period.

Wyatt Bongiovanni cut the Laval lead in half when he scored on the power play at 10:07 of the second period converting a Daniel Torgersson feed.

The goal was his second of the season.

The Rocket took a 3-1 lead when Joshua Roy sat on the edge of the crease and hammered a Sean Farrell feed from the side of the net past Milic at 18:11.

The goal was his 7th of the season.

Xavier Simoneau scored 1:44 into the third to make it 4-1 Laval when he drove the net hard while Mitchell Stevens burst to the outside before hitting Simoneau with a hard pass that he redirected past Milic.

The goal was his first of the season.

Ashton Sautner got one back when he sailed a wrister from the point past Mann, beating him with a low shot just inside the left post at 3:36 to make it 4-2.

Sean Farrell sealed the win for the Rocket at 13:53 of the third when he finished off a three-way passing play by snapping Joshua Roy feed to make it 5-2.
