The win was their fourth straight.
“It’s a big win for sure. I feel like we’ve played some really good hockey lately and we continued that tonight. Obviously, they’re a great team and they put us under pressure, but we kind of weathered that and got going," said Raymond.
Dylan Larkin and Alex DeBrincat also scored for Detroit.
Moritz Seider had three assists and Patrick Kane chipped in a pair of assists for the Red Wings.
Alex Lyon turned aside 21 shots for Detroit, who moved to within a game of .500 at 17-18-4.
Josh Morrissey and Nikolaj Ehlers also scored for the Jets.
Connor Hellebuyck made 25 saves for Winnipeg, who lost their 3rd straight game to drop to 27-12-2.
Detroit opened the scoring on the power play 6:25 into the opening stanza when Lucas Raymond found Dylan Larkin inside the left face off circle and hit him with a cross ice pass.
Larkin moved in before ripping a high wrister past Hellebuyck, beating him high blocker side to make it 1-0 Red Wings.
The goal was his 15th of the season.
Lucas Raymond's power play marker 4:33 into the second period gave Detroit a two-goal cushion when he one-timed a Moritz Seider feed past Hellebuyck 4:33 into the second period.
Josh Morrissey cut the Detroit lead in half 5:48 into the second when his slap shot from the left point beat Alex Lyon.
Morrissey, who missed most of the first period after taking a puck in the mouth early on, said his club had a tough start.
"I didn't love our start, obviously. We get behind the eight-ball with a couple of penalties early. It kind of takes a little bit of flow out of the game there for the forward lines, and the D. But then I thought we got our game going in the second period. And the third period we would have liked to find a way to keep it at 2-1 for as long as possible and give ourselves a chance to tie it up. Went down 3-1 and just couldn't find a way to climb back," he said.
Alex DeBrincat restored the two-goal lead 7:14 into the third when he got his stick down in time to redirect a Patrick Kane feed past Hellebuyck to make it 3-1.
Nikolaj Ehlers scored with 3:14 remaining in regulation to pull Winnipeg to within a goal.
Dylan Larkin scored into an empty net with just under thirty seconds left in the third to ice the win for Detroit.
The goal was his 16th of the season.
Detroit Head Coach Todd McLellan said his club is adjusting well to the recent coaching change.
“Well, they've done a really good job. Coming in as a new staff, Trent and I, and joining the group that's here, the focus went on penalty killing. The power play was doing a pretty good job, there hasn't been many tweaks there, a few things we've talked about. But certainly the penalty kill has been a total rebound. Winnipeg didn't get many opportunities, but when they did we held our ground, we did our jobs… and Alex made saves when he needed to make them. So when you win the special teams battle in this league, you have a real good chance at success," he said.
