Jets edge Blues 3-2 to win second straight game Featured

Winnipeg, Manitoba (NHN)-Haydn Fleury's first two points of the year were big ones. The Jet defenceman had a goal and an assist to pace the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-2 win over the visiting St. Louis Blues Sunday afternoon to win their second straight game.

Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor each had breakaway goals for the Jets.

Morgan Barron had a pair of assists.

Eric Comrie made 29 saves for Winnipeg, who moved to .500 on the season at 28-28-10.

Dalibor Dvorsky and Dylan Holloway scored for the Blues.

Jordan Binnington turned aside 13 shots for St. Louis, who dropped to 27-30-10.

Haydn Fleury got the Jets on the board just over two and half minutes into the contest when he took a drop pass from Brad Lambert inside the left faceoff circle before snapping a wrister, beating Binnington glove side to make it 1-0 2:31 into the game.

The goal was his first of the season.

Mark Scheifele scored on a breakaway at 7:51 after he chipped the puck past Blues defenceman Cam Fowler at the Jets blueline before swooping in alone on Binnington and beating him with a backhand deke.

The goal was his 31st of the season.

There was no scoring in the second period.

Dalibor Dvorsky got the Blues on the board 5:17 into the third when he redirected a Jonatan Berggren feed past Comrie to make it 2-1.

Dvorsky drove the left post hard and got his blade on Berggren pass which beat Comrie's outstretched blocker.

. Kyle Connor scored on a breakaway 11:53 into the third period when Morgan Barron found him after he snuck behind the Blues defenceman and hit him with a stretch pass.

The Jet winger fired a wrister, beating Binnington blocker side to score his 31st of the season.

Dylan Holloway scored for the Blues with an extra attacker with 51 seconds left in regulation.
