Jets down Kraken 6-2 to keep playoff hopes alive Featured

Winnipeg, Manitoba (NHN)-Kyle Connor fired a pair of goals to pace the Winnipeg Jets to a () win over the visiting Seattle Kraken Monday night to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Jonathan Toews and Gabriel Vilardi each had a goal and an assist for Winnipeg, who won their second straight game.

Brad Lambert and Vladislav Namestnikov also scored for the Jets.

Mark Scheifele had three assists and Josh Morrissey added a pair of helpers.

Connor Hellebuyck made 22 saves for Winnipeg, who moved to 34-31-12.

Jordan Eberle and Jared McCann scored for the Kraken.

Philipp Grubauer and Joey Daccord combined to stop 26 shots for Seattle, who dropped to 32-33-11.

Jordan Eberle got the Kraken on the board 9:17 into the first when he followed up on his own wraparound attempt before drifting a backhand shot past Hellebuyck to make it 1-0.

The goal was his 25th of the season.

Jonathan Toews tied the contest on the power play 12:39 into the opening stanza after playing the puck off the end boards off a Josh Morrissey shot from the point.

He snapped the disc past Grubauer from close in to make it 1-1.

Gabriel Vilardi gave the Jets the lead with a power play goal just under halfway through the second after picking up a rebound off a Jonathan Toews shot, beating Grubauer high at 9:55.

The goal was his 19th of the season.

Kyle Connor gave Winnipeg a two-goal cushion with a power play marker 12:09 into the second, converting a Mark Scheifele feed past Grubauer Scheifele earned his 900th NHL career point on the play.

Seattle Head Coach Lane Lambert had seen enough and pulled Grubauer in favor of Joey Daccord. Jared McCann pulled the Kraken to within a goal early in the third when he pulled over the Jets blueline and unleashed a hard wrister through a screened Hellebuyck, beating him cleanly to make it 3-2 at 2:28

The goal was his 19th of the season.

Brad Lambert scored just under the six minute mark when he took a feed from Adam Lowry before streaking down the right side and unleashing a hard wrister, beating Daccord high to make it 4-2 at 5:59.

Connor scored again at 15:19, one timing a Mark Scheifele feed from the corner past Daccord to make it 5-2.

The goal was his 38th of the season.

Vladislav Namestnikov added an empty netter with just over two minutes left in regulation to seal the win for the Jets.
