Okskari Salminen made 32 saves for Manitoba, who moved to 6-2-1-0 on the season.

Anton Khubodin turned aside 28 shots for Texas, who dropped to 5-3-0-2.

There was no scoring in the first period. Limoges cut hard for the front, pivoted and beat Khubodin with a high wrister to put the Moose up 1-0.

With Simon Lundmark off for holding Curtis McKenzie got the Stars on even terms when he tipped a puck off a Riley Barber shot from the left circle past Salminen at 4:27.

Matej Blumel nearly won it for the Stars in overtime on a two man breakaway but was stymied by Salminen.

A three goal second period was all the offence Winnipeg would need as they won the first two games of a three-game homestand.

The Jets have won 5 of their last 6 games, their only blemish a 2-1 overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Josh Morrissey and Pierre-Luc Dubois each had a goal and an assist while Adam Lowry and Nate Schmidt also scored for the Jets.

Connor Hellebuyck made 30 saves for Winnipeg, who moved to 7-3-1.

The Jets special teams were key as they went 3-for-5 on the power play and potted a shorthanded goal in the second period while going 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

Arvid Sodberblom and Dylan Wells combined to make 33 saves for Chicago, who dropped to 5-5-2.

There was no scoring in the first period.

Josh Morrissey gave Winnipeg the lead halfway through the second on the power play when he one timed a Mark Scheifele feed from the half wall past Chicago goaltender Arvid Sodberblom, beating him with a low shot from the center of the blue line at 10:04.

Adam Lowry scored on a shorthanded breakaway 13:33 into the second period.

With Sam Gagner off for hooking, Lowry broke in alone on Soderstrom and snapped a wrister past the Chicago goaltender, beating him glove side to give the Jets a 2-0 lead.

Pierre-Luc Dubois' goal seven seconds into a power play put the Jets up 3-0 when he converted a cross ice feed from Kyle Connor and snapped the disc past Soderblom, beating him glove side, just inside the post at 17:55.

Chicago Head Coach Luke Richardson had seen enough and replaced Soderstrom with rookie Dylan Wells to start the third period.

Nate Schmidt scored on the power play just under the five minute mark when he took a cross ice feed from Cole Perfetti and beat Wells just under the cross bar to make it 4-0 Jets.

The goal snapped an eight game scoring drought for the Jet winger, who hadn't scored since potting an empty netter in the season opener against the New York Rangers.

The Jet winger took a Mark Scheifele drop pass at the top of the circle before moving in and snapping a low glove side wrister past Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault.

"I think I tried him high-glove like seven times today, so changed it up there," said Connor, who had several chances to end the scoring drought, including a wide open net.

The goal was his second of the season.

Connor also had an assist on the night.

Pierre-Luc Dubois had a goal and an assist for Winnipeg.

Blake Wheeler had the other Jet goal.

Connor Hellebuyck turned aside 20 shots for the Jets, who kicked off a three-game homestand with a win to move to 6-3-1. Winnipeg has won three of their last four.

Nick Suzuki had a goal and an assist for the Canadiens.

Kirby Dach also scored for Montreal, who finished off a four-game road trip with a 2-1-1 record.

Sam Montembeault made 33 saves for the Canadiens, who dropped to 5-5-1.

Nick Suzuki scored 6:43 into the first to get Montreal on the board.

Cole Caufield took the puck off the boards by the Jets blue line before sliding the disc through his legs to a busting Suzuki, who broke hard to the outside on his backhand leaving Jet defenceman Dylan DeMelo in his wake before cutting for the net and lifting the puck past Connor Hellebuyck's outstretched blocker.

Kirby Dach staked the Canadiens to a 2-1 lead just under five minutes into the second when he snagged a rebound off a Nick Suzuki shot and snapped it into a wide open goal at 4:54.

Blake Wheeler replied for the Jets 41 seconds later, sliding a loose puck in the crease past Montembeault to tie the contest at 2 after the Canadiens goaltender let the puck through his pads off a heavy slap shot from Pierre-Luc Dubois at 5:35.

The goal was his 3rd of the season and 299th of his career.

Wheeler appeared to bump the Montreal goalkeeper out of the way before backhanding the puck into the net.

The goal was challenged by the Canadiens for goaltender interference, but was ruled a good goal.

There was no scoring in the third period and the game went to overtime.

Canadiens Head Coach Martin St. Louis was happy with his teams' effort to close out their four game road trip.

"“Yeah, probably the flow of… it was a pretty even game. Considering all the kills we had to execute, I was happy to be in that situation in the third, being tied going into the third and getting an opportunity on the power play in the third, and I thought we got some good looks. Unfortunately we just get the extra point. But overall, pretty pleased," he said.

Jets Head Coach Rick Bowness had nothing but praise for Connor.

"It’s nice to see it go in, obviously. There is perseverance. Just stay with it. Again, the chances are Grade A’s. There are times you want the right guy to get the puck at the right time, in the right spot, and it was coming to him a lot tonight. It was one of those, it wasn’t going in, and he couldn’t pick a better time to score. It was a goal scorer’s goal - off the far post and in. That’s perseverance. Just stay with it. Again, we had that discussion, if you’re not getting opportunities - and that’s when you have to look at what you’re doing wrong - he’s not doing anything wrong. The puck just isn’t going in. That kid tonight made a lot of huge saves. Give their goalie a lot of credit tonight."

Montreal returns home to host Vegas on Saturday while Winnipeg continues their three-game homestand against Chicago.

The Winnipeg goaltender played a strong game, making 47 saves for the Jets, who wrapped up a three game road trip with a 2-0-1 record.

The loss snapped a three game winning streak for the Jets.

Vegas dominated the game through two periods, outshooting the Jets 33-8.

Winnipeg dropped to 5-3-1 on the season.

Adin Hill stopped 24 shots for the Golden Knights, who moved to 8-2-0.

There was no scoring in the first two periods.

Adam Lowry opened the scoring 14 seconds into the third, snapping a rebound past Hill off a Neal Pionk slapshot to put the Jets up 1-0.

Mark Stone tied the game at 7:13 after batting his own rebound past Hellebuyck.

Cole Maier tied the contest with 41 seconds left in the opening stanza when he worked his way from behind the Iowa goal before turning and unleashing a wrister, beating McIntyre glove side to make it 1-1.

Kevin Stenlund tied the contest on the power play when he caught the rebound off a shot off the cross bar and shot the puck into a wide open net at 7:33.

With Manitoba enjoying a two-man advantage Ville Hienola cranked a shot off the cross bar with the puck ending up right on Kevin Stenlund's stick.

Stenlund shot the puck into a wide open net to make it 1-1.

The Wild took the lead 5:21 into the second when defenceman Joe Hicketts found Steven Fogarty and hit him with a centering pass from the right faceoff circle. Fogarty got his stick down and redirected the disc past Salminen to make it 2-1 Iowa.

With Jansen Harkins off for slashing, the Wild took a two-goal lead at 9:31 of the second when Adam Beckman hit Sammy Walker in the high slot with a crisp pass and the Iowa forward made no mistake, drifting a high wrister past Salminen, beating the Manitoba goaltender glove side to make it 3-1.

The Wild power play struck again at 13:55 when Sammy Walker tipped a puck off a Mitchell Chaffee shot from the top of the faceoff circle past Salminen to make it 4-1.

Trevor Moore tied the game 4:45 into the third when Philip Danault stripped Jets forward Blake Wheeler of the puck as he was attempting to skate the disc out of the Jets zone.

Danault sent Moore in on a breakaway and he made no mistake, snapping the disc past the Winnipeg goaltender, beating him low blocker side to make it 4-4.

Axel Jonsson-Fjallby gave the Jets the lead at 14:23, tipping a Brenden Dillon shot past Quick to make it 5-4.

Blake Wheeler added an empty netter with 40.8 seconds left to seal the win for the Jets.
